So, where are the push notifications?
You may have woken up this morning to a shiny new mBox Mail update. Excited you installed it skipping past the boring release notes.
As the application launches you get your finger ready to tap OK on “mBox Mail would like to send you Push Notifications”.
…
But that popup never came. Infact you soon realized nothing had really changed about this new mBox Mail release. That is, assuming you were one of the lucky ones that wasn’t at all affected by various compatibility bugs with iPhone OS 3.0. For the rest of us, we may now resume opening email attachments, secure our inbox with a pin code, finally be able to take advantage of copy and paste among other important behind the scenes changes.
So, where are the push notifications?
Fact is, we’re still working on it. We don’t take the responsibility of checking mail behind the scenes for our entire customer base lightly. A whole infrastructure needs to be put in place to offer such services. Considering mBox Mail is a mail client, we have no servers that we can simply re-appropriate for the job.
The official announcement is that mBox Mail 3.0 (next major feature release) will ship with the highly anticipated Push notifications support.
When? As soon as possible.
If we ruined your morning and you feel like venting, you may find me on twitter.

Notification is working (Slow) but the message badge seems to have some issues. After you open mbox inbox and leave with unread emails in the inbox the badge no longer with display on the icon showing how many messages you have?

Hi – Push is working on my iphone. I do have my hotmail info set up in iphones own email app. Just ad your hotmail account details to that, and set it to get mail manually! My MBox fetches my emails really fast, and has a nice clear ‘loud’ sound to it. Love it
